Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.

I use this at home with my 4 and 5 year old and they LOVE it. I especially like it because you can turn off the exit buttons and set it so the mouse only stays in the tux paint screen. Tux Paint is great for storyboarding because there are scenes and ’stamps’ off different themes.

Download TuxPaint and install on your machine www.tuxpaint.org

Play around with it and brainstorm how you could use it with students.

Create a lesson using tux paint and write a blog post (comment) about it below.
